Having a dog or walking a dog as company is becoming a trend nowadays. Business people even think of it as a way to make money by the “Rent-A-Dog” business. The targeted customer are those who love dogs but are too busy to keep one. Man’s best friend can be rented for periods ranging from a day to a week, or adopted.
This business has started few years back but recently is becoming more and more popular especially in Japan. According to the ABCNews. In Japan, some are searching for companionship in their old age. For others, dogs are a substitute for children. Whatever the reason, the appeal of dogs has exploded in Japan. There are now more than 15 million pet dogs in the country — that’s more dogs than children under the age of 13.
Some people think that it’s a bad idea to Rent-A-Dog cause they don’t care for the dog’s feeling. But on the other hand, if someone really likes dogs but can’t commit, Rent-A-Dog could be a solution for them, far better than keeping a puppy and dump them few years later for whatever reasons. What do you think?

Today I want to talk a little about dogs in shelter. In hope that more people like you and me, or people from the shelter can benefit from it, at the same time safe a dog’s life.
Do you know that, approximately every 9 second, a dog is killed? There has been too many abandoned dogs each day. Shelter has been set up to rescue those dogs, but the number has been increase each day, and there is not enough space to accommodate every dogs. We can do our part to either educate more people about the fate of an abandoned dog, make a donation, or help to adopt a dog from shelter instead of buying from a pet shop. If you are dog lover, forward this to other dog lovers who care and help more dogs in the shelter.
I came across this website DogsInDanger.com and learn that they are actually a nonprofit national shelter who are trying to help shelters save the lives of millions of innocent dogs.
How Does This Work?
Most shelters don’t have big advertising budgets to advertise their dogs. DogsInDanger is run by a group of dedicated animal loving folks who want to help do what they can to save urgent dogs in shelters by gaining them invaluable adoption exposure.
And, it is FREE. There is no charge for shelters to list their dogs with us, and no charge for adopters to search the site for dogs in need.
Why your shelter should join DogsInDanger
DogsInDanger can give you as much help as possible without creating more work for your already overburdened shelter staff. They have made everything easy, including the registration and update process. In fact, no special computer knowledge is needed - anyone on your staff can keep the list current.
After registering, your shelter will have access to an Internet page where you can list dogs in your shelter facing euthanasia. Keeping the page current is simple, when you save the list and upload photos, the changes take effect on their site immediately.
They also help do marketing campaign targeting potential adopters and driving traffic to the site to see your listed dogs.
Top 10 reasons dogs are dumped at shelters
- Moving
- Landlord not allowing pet
- Too many animals in household
- Cost of pet maintenance
- Owner having personal problems
- Inadequate facilities
- No homes available for litter mates
- Having no time for pet
- Pet illness
- Biting
Adopt a Dog If You Can
And tell your friends to adopt dogs instead of buying them. Adopting dogs rather than buying them will save thousands of dogs from being euthanized in shelters every day. A dog is killed approximately every 9 seconds.
Spay or Neuter Your Dog
Spaying your dog prevents more homeless dogs.
Teach Your Children to Value Dog’s Lives
Learning to value life begins at an early age. Studies have shown that teaching children how to stop the neglect and abuse of animals through early humane education stays with them into adulthood.

In Tibet, these dogs are employed for different purposes. Some dogs would be left to guard flocks of llama, yak or sheep from such formidable predators as wolves and snow leopards. It is also said that 2 TM can fight a lion. Traders, traveling through villages, would sometimes sit a dog on top of particularly valuable cargo, to further ensure its protection, or the dogs would walk with the caravan. In Tibet, villages and monasteries had a Tibetan Mastiff as protection. TM were sometimes kept on a short chain in doorways of homes during the day and were seen at entrances to monasteries also. GREENVILLE, Maine - Thumper, a black Labrador retriever, is getting credit for saving a Greenville man when a fire swept through his home.
Roland Cote said his wife and their 7-year-old grandson were away when the blaze started early Sunday in a converted two-story garage. He said Thumper grabbed him by the arm to wake him, leaving just enough time for him to dial 911 before fleeing the fast-moving fire.
While the dog is the hero, a cat is the bad guy in this story.
Cote said the fire marshal investigator believes the blaze was started when Princess, the family cat, tipped over a kerosene lantern. Cote says he and his pets escaped safely, but he says Princess did get her tail singed by the flames.

Hey guys, I came across this website, which the main purpose is to educate people more about puppy farming. It really educate me and open up my eyes, ….. and nearly drop my jaw……..
If I don’t help and put in effort to spread the words out to the world, I don’t deserve to call myself a dog-lover. When does this started to happen? And when will this be ended??
Please spend sometime to click through the video clip below if you still consider yourself human. Sorry I’m a bit emotional and sad to see all those dogs being treated so cruelly. I almost cry out when I see those dogs having to go through so much suffer, and without any help. Do they born to be deserve with this kind of treatment from human? Is it because they are animal/dog, so we don’t have to care for their feeling and just want to earn the big bucks??
What Is Puppy Mills / Puppy Farming?
Puppy Farming/commercial breeding has always been lacking in high animal welfare standards with multiple breeds of dogs being bred indiscriminately and being sold to large Pet Stores throughout the country. The breeding bitches and stud dogs are not socialised, nor do they ever see the light of day, being kept in filthy, confined spaces all of their lives and producing litter after litter of sickly puppies.
If you are thinking of getting a puppy, please don’t buy from a Pet Shop or Pet Superstore or advertisements in newspapers. Go to a reputable breeder instead or to a rescue centre where there are always rescued dogs needing good, loving homes.
Why not join our Poster Campaign and help us spread the word about the horrors of Puppy Farming.

NO ONE HAS MORE POWER TO FIGHT PUPPY FARMS THAN THE CONSUMER. IN EACH INDIVIDUALS HANDS IS THE ABILITY TO STOP THE CYCLE OF ABUSE THAT ENDS WITH THE PURCHASE OF A PUPPY FARMED PUPPY FROM A PET SHOP.

Though this news refers more to US and UK market, but I believe in other part of the world, those inhuman puppy farmer does exist. So far I’ve never heard of this in Malaysia. If I do, I will sure do whatever I can to stop them. So if you are still reading this, and you are from other country, please do the same ok?? I mean, do the same as in STOP PUPPY FARMING!!!Buying A Puppy: RSPCA Advise
- Insist on seeing the puppy with its mother where it was raised
- Never buy from a unlicensed breeding establishment. If unsure, ask to see the breeder’s license
- Avoid adverts offering lots of different breeds for sale
- Never buy a pup sold straight from a car boot or at an open air-event like a market

A dog feeds tiger triplets and her own puppy, right, at the Paomaling Zoo in Jinan, capital of east China’s Shandong Province, Wednesday, May 16, 2007.
The cubs, whom officials at the Jinan Paomaling Wild Animal World in Shandong province are so far just calling “One,” “Two” and “Three,” have been nursed by a dog since they were rejected by their tiger mother shortly after birth, said Paomaling manager Chen Yucai.
The trio’s adoptive mother, a mixed breed farm dog called “Huani,” is expected to nurse them for about a month or until their appetites outpace her supply, Chen said.
Chen said it is common for Chinese zoos to use surrogate dog mothers to nurse rejected tiger cubs and that Huani has nursed tigers before.
In the past, Paomaling put dog urine on their rejected cub’s fur to make the surrogate think she was nursing one of her own puppies but the zoo didn’t bother with Huani because she seemed not to mind nursing the tigers, he said.
“The family is getting along well and seems to enjoy each other,” Chen said.
